Storing Coffee
Why Storage Is So Important.
Freshly roasted coffee beans "de-gas" (release carbon dioxide) for several weeks after roasting, with the majority of the degassing happening within the first 3 days. As time passes, it becomes easier for oxygen to enter the beans, which can affect their freshness. To preserve your beans, it’s essential to store them properly—keep them in a cool, dark, and oxygen-free environment.
What About Green Coffee Bean Storage?
If you can’t store your green coffee beans in a nitrogen-sealed environment, don’t worry! They’ll keep just fine in a breathable bag, stored in a cool, dry place.
