Look out below! The Torpedo Keg Depth Charge series just dropped and they're set to send blast waves through the homebrew world. Large-scale homebrewers will appreciate the ability to fit their entire batch into a single 10-gallon ball lock keg, and you can expect the same great features that have made Torpedo Kegs such a hit. Laser welded construction for superior quality, rolled stainless steel handles that will last a lifetime, and stackable design that won't interfere with your fittings.

Quality First
The first thing we at MoreBeer! check out is interior welds. We've spent a decade rejecting kegs made overseas because the interior welds have never met our standards. If a weld is not perfect and shows evident burn marks along with nooks and crannies it cannot be sanitized effectively. These kegs are machine welded and exceed our standards for quality. The weld quality is possible because these kegs made by an ISO certified commercial keg manufacturer.

Cool Features
Torpedo Kegs were designed to stack with Ball Lock quick disconnects in place and serving, which is a cool feature for some brewers who have vertical space in their refrigerator. We also like the rolled stainless steel handles. They are comfortable to grab and will never come off like some rubber handles can over time. In and Out is etched near the keg posts for easy identification, which is very handy when you are connecting lines in a refrigerator or kegerator and trying not to make a mistake.

Low2 Keg Lid O-ring
Give your beverage the absolute best protection from oxygen staling with the Low2 keg lid O-ring. Even the most perfectly sealed keg is susceptible to oxygen ingress through the hatch O-ring—yes, even if the keg is under constant pressure with CO2! Even a leak-free, pressurized keg will release CO2 molecules as they pass through the lid O-ring itself, and conversely, Oxygen molecules will permeate through the O-ring and diffuse into the keg when they reach the surface area on the other side. The level of permeability is wide ranging and highly dependent on what material the O-ring is made from. Rather than the usual EPDM or Silicone, Low2 gaskets are made from a unique composition of Synthetic M-Class and Cross-Link Elastomers. This special blend has superior oxygen barrier properties that results in your beverage staying fresher for longer.

Worth the investment.

I love these kegs. I purchased 2 for pressure fermentation. Never had a single issue with seals or leaks. I use a cip spray ball connected to a pond pump in a bucket with PBW for cleaning.

Spund without breaking the bank.

Purchased this to use as a pressure capabale fermenter. I would love to have a concial unitank but my brew space is a unheated garage and use a deep freezer for a temperature controlled chamber to park my beers. Also combined this with a floating dip tube. Was able to spund a lager cold crash and rack fully carbonated beer to a serving keg. While not as easy as a bucket to clean this keg will fit on a Mark II keg washer. Overall I'm happy with this purchase. I'll pick up a second one.

Solid keg

I purchased this keg to ferment 5 gal batches of homebrew. The build quality is excellent and the size is great because it fits in my fermentation fridge. Haven't had the chance to brew with it yet but I expect that closed transfers will up my ipa game.

What is the difference between the plastic disconnects and the “premium” plastic disconnects?

MoreCoffee!

The "premium" plastic disconnects are the CM Becker disconnects.

Do these come pre-sanitized? How much cleaning is necessary or recommended before first use?

MoreCoffee!

These do not come sanitized nor pressurized. We recommend doing a full clean on these as you would after using it for a batch. Please clean it thoroughly with a PBW-type cleaner and an acid based sanitizer before use. Cheers!

What is the total height of two stacked? It looks like the bottom keg has a recess to receive the top.

MoreCoffee!

It does but only about 1-1.5". They lock in pretty nicely but you won't save a ton of space if that is your concern.

I have a marks keg washer will this be able to be cleaned on it or how do you clean yours?

MoreCoffee!

You can absolutely use the Marks Keg and Carboy washer to wash this keg. It's a little larger so it may be a tad harder to balance but there should be no problem if you keep an eye on it.

MoreCoffee!

I spray it out with a pressure washer wand that attaches to a garden hose same as I clean my other kegs. Once it's clear of gunk I sanitize with StarSan (splash it around then dump) and then purge it with cO2 so it's ready when I need it.

MoreCoffee!

I got my keg washer from ss brew tech and works well with the torpedo. Maybe you can compare them to see if they are similar. Enjoy the 10 gallon torpedo I love mine getting ready to buy another

MoreCoffee!

Yes it can clean it. I modified my marks keg washer a bit though. On the white pvc cap screwed in to the top of the pump I drilled 4 - 16th of an inch holes at 45 degree angles pointing up to get all inner surfaces. This Keg is a little unruly to put on top of the keg washer. 5 gallon kegs are easier to handle.
