This handy adapter fits on standard keg couplers with its Female Beer Thread (5/8" BSP) and allows a ball lock connection on the beer side of the coupler. Made from 304 stainless steel.

Helpful little adapter- but with a bad washer

This adapter is great and lets me easily swap between my homebrew kegs and commercial kegs. However- as one of the other reviews mentioned you really need to be careful to not over-tighten it. The washer provided is really not good and deforms easily. I'm not always going to be the one operating it and I didn't want to chance someone over-tightening it and losing a bunch of beer. I replaced it with another washer I had laying around the house and it works much better. I just wish it came with a better washer to start.

Awesome

Excellent addition to my kegerator. However be sure not to over tighten. Go finger tight and 1/4 turn at most. Otherwise you will ruin the washer.

Beer is coming out the ball lock as soon as I engage the Sanke lever before I attach the connector hose. Do I have a bad spring?

It does sound like there is an issue with the spring inside the connector. Usually you can get them to seat better if you gently push in the poppet and wiggle it around to get the top gasket to engage more evenly. If there is ever damage to the gasket on top of the poppet or the bottom feet that hold it in place then you would need to replace the poppet with a new one.

What are the difference between the gas and beer sanke adapter? I've bought one years ago how do I tell which it is?

It is hard to tell just by looking but they are slightly different sizes. The beer side is slightly bigger so you won't accidentally put your gas fitting on the beer post and flood your regulator with beer. However if you push hard enough it can still happen so be careful.

There is a small ramp below the gasket that the balls ride across. One adapter has a larger ramp than the other B for big ramp b for beer.

The beer side has a bit if a flare before the indent for the ball lock. The gas side will have a ring at the indents for your wrench.

the gas has a thin line around the top of the bottom most portion near where the straight cuts are for tightening.
