This Duotight Bulkhead is the same one used for installing the Temp Twister cooling coil into the lid of the FermZilla. Allows you to add a bulkhead to just about anything that can then be connected to with EVABarrier 9.5 mm OD Tubing (D1719) or 3/8" OD stainless or copper tubing.

Duotight offers superior quality when compared to other push-in fittings. Their double EPDM O-ring design provides a more complete and reliable seal, protecting against leaks even when tubing is bent around tight corners. They are suitable for both beverage and gas applications, and are pressure rated to 100 psi. Tubing can be released by simply pushing in the collet and pulling the line out. No need for clamps or cutting lines!

Features:
  • Insert tubing and firmly push to connect
  • Easily release tubing by pushing in the collet
  • Suitable for both gas & beverage applications
  • Made from food-grade acetal plastic
  • Double O-rings made from highly chemical resistant EPDM
  • Locking teeth made from stainless steel
  • Pressure rated to 150 psi
  • Temperature rated to 212°F (100°C)

Please note: exposure to chlorine will degrade the acetal plastic and stainless steel these fittings are made from. Do not use in contact with bleach or other chlorinated cleaning chemicals.

These duotight fittings produce an airtight seal for passing a cooling coil across the top of a fermenter. Great for pressure transfers as long as your fermenter is pressure rated.

Tailor made for blowoff tubes!

Whack one of these into your fermenter lid and add some 9.5mm tubing and you've got a blowoff tube that can't be blown out. There can be many more applications...but this one stops the explosive messes in my bubbler lids!

Great for stainless CFC tubing

I bought the stainless version of the Exchilerator CFC and was surprised to find it came without permanently attached fittings to connect the stainless wort coil to plastic tubing. Looking to convert everything I can to duotight fittings I found this and used it with the DUO122 fitting to create a water-tight seal between my CFC stainless steel coil and EVA barrier tubing. Take the metal nut off slide this bulkhead fitting on the stainless tubing with the threads facing away from the end then screw DUO122 on to this fitting and insert the EVA tubing into the DUO122. So much faster than my old system very pleased.

What size hole is needed for the bulkhead?

MoreCoffee!

The major diameter of the 1/2in. BSP thread measures .790 (actual) on the Duotight bulhead I installed. I used a 13/16" (.8125") diameter on a step drill resulting in a nice snug fit.

I used a step drill for mine. Couldn't say exactly what the final size was from memory so I measured the hole and it is 9/16" - the fit is snug.
