This kit includes the 4" shank with 3/16" nipple, all stainless faucet, and plastic 2.5" knob.


Installation note: On a fridge there is generally no coolant lines running through the door but please check to see there are no lines connecting the door and the rest of the refrigerator. To test for coolant lines on a freezer start with a warm freezer then plug the unit in with the lid open. You should be able to see the lines form condensation on the inside of the freezer where there are lines running. Please still use caution when drilling.

cheap route to go

Cheaper rout to go for taps and does a good job for a limited time. Once it sits a day it clogs up and you have to really pull on it to get it going again. I got into the habit of spraying it down with some Starsan before and after use this helps but gets tedious.

Great deal

These faucet/ shank combos are a great deal. I have had no problems like other people have mentioned. I run PBW followed by StarSan through them between each keg and pull them apart to scrub down every other keg. Get yourself a brush and faucet wrench.

Good inexpensive tap

I got four of these and they work great. The only thing I would have liked better is if it had threaded connections instead of barbed.

Good Cost effective solution

I have 2 of these in my kegerator. Easy to install. The hardest part was pushing the tubing onto the barb. As mentioned above it does get gummed up if you don't use often. My workaround is to keep a squirt bottle handy with sanitizer solution and squirt onto metal piston on the front of the faucet. Lubricates and Cleans. The better solution is to just keep drinking more beer ;-)

Great if planning to go through the door or wall of the fridge. Not as nice as SS.

What size tubing do I need to match the nipple on this setup?

I USED THE 5mm id x 8mm od EVABARRIER TUBING. HAD TO HEAT IT SLIGHTLY TO MAKE IT PLYABLE THEN PUSHED IT OVER THE NIPPLE. AFTER IT COOLED I CAN'T PULL IT OFF.

Is it possible and safe to connect the EVA Barrier 4mm ID tubing directly to the 3/16 nipple of this shank ?

I use 5mm eva barrier tubing. I had to heat the tubing and stretch it over the nipple. not sure if 4mm would work.

What growler filler will work with this tap? I see you have three.

The growler filler attachment that fits best in these faucets is our D1222 growler filler. It uses 3/8" ID tubing to attach to the barb.

Yes it will fill a growler. I also have a growler filler which is a hose attachment to the faucet and fills the growler from the bottom... it is very handy.
