For the price this product should come with the 29mm bell. Instead you must buy it directly from Anvil who sells it but doesn't list it on their website and charges $8 bucks for it plus another $$8 to ship it separately. So if you want this capper so you can crimp 29mm caps expect to pay closer to $100 for it because the capper doesn't qualify for free shipping either. At $100 its cost:quality is just average. And it's packaged horribly. Please consider including an option to purchase the 29mm bell at the same time as the original purchase

Seems to be built to last.

I have not had a chance to use it yet but I really like that the piston that holds the bottle cap cripper is made of metal instead of plastic. Last one broke after about 500 bottles or less.

worked perfectly

I had been using a hand held capper for years. The hand held device was frustrating to the point where I considered giving up brewing beer. I just used the anvil bench capper. I was able to cap 50 bottles in under 15 minutes without any frustration. It worked very smoothly.

Bench capper

Don’t wast your money on a two handled plastic capper .spend a few extra bucks and get a quality bench capper .I started with a cheap capper and broke 8 bottles in a row before finding out that it wasn’t compatible with some bottles what a drag on bottle day!

Simple to use. Easy to adjust for bottle heights. Would recommend to all brewers.

Very effective capper.

I tried several others before this. This one just works well.

Very pleased.

Very sturdy and the large base makes capping easy. The base could be a bit heavier but it does the job. The magnet in the capping bell is a great feature for preloading the cap rather than balancing it on the bottle top.

Game changer!

If you’re still bottling (like me) this thing is an absolute game changer! Capped 35 bottles in under 5 minutes with this thing! It also stores flat and can be hung on the wall to minimize the space it takes up.

Is there a replacement head for the capper? for the standard head that it comes with or can you use an alternate part?

MoreCoffee!

Unfortunately at this time we do not carry a replacement bell for this capper in the standard 26mm size. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Is the head mechanism plastic aluminum steel ? Does the capping bell screw out ?

MoreCoffee!

Yes the capping bell screws out. The bell on mine is deformed i.e. not round and I would replace but the male thread type is impossible to find. Thread is a 3/4-16. Contacted Anvil for support but their customer service is the worst they never responded.

Is there a 29mm attachment head available for capping European standard champagne bottles?

MoreCoffee!

Hi John - The supplier had discontinued the attachment head so there is not a 29mm cap available.
