Does this kettle have tri-ply bottom?
Michael Crick on Jul 31, 2018
BEST ANSWER: No, it's a medium-thin stainless bottom. But it still works great. I've been using it for years.
Will the 24x24 mesh bag fit this kettle? Or is the 29x29 a better fit?
Chris Burger on Feb 28, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Hello Chris - Better to have too much than not enough.
Does this kettle need a treatment or some type of conditioning prior to use?
Michael Crick on Apr 11, 2020
BEST ANSWER: Hi Michael - All you need to do is clean the kettle prior to use. No need of special conditioning.
Can the top port be threaded from the inside? It states the bottom can but no mention of the top.
jamie kopf on Feb 18, 2020
BEST ANSWER: Hi Jamie, yes the top port has internal threads 1/2'' FPT.

Can't hardly Read the Stamped Volume Markers
I really like the boil pot my wife got me for Christmas. I am able to brew 5 gal. batches now all in one pot. The handles are heat and slip resistant, which really helps when moving boiling wort. The only issue I have is that I can hardly see the volume markers (which is one of the main reasons I wanted the pot in the first place). The stamping is not clear like the photo on the web page and is very hard to read wile boiling wort.

Very happy at first, cracked/fractured in under a year
Thought I heard something the last few times I was brewing but a water check confirmed, small crack along the weld line and another 1" up from the base.

Would not purchase again based on the thinness of the material. Will see how the limited warranty goes.

Great upgrade for the 5-gallon homebrewer
This was the kettle I bought as an upgrade to BIAB brewing from extract brewing. I have been very satisfied with it, as I can do full-boil 5-gallon batches with room to spare. My only criticism is the lid is pretty thin (a non-issue), the bottom is not tri-clad (non-issue for me), and it doesn't hold heat very well during a mash. I use towels to help hold the heat in, and put the stovetop on low heat to compensate. I have it dialed in now, just takes some getting used to. All in all, I'm very happy with it.

All you need when heating with gas!
I’ve been using this pot for over a year now I’m really like it. I mostly brew 5 gallon batches. Some of my pre-boil volumes are 7.24 gallons. I haven’t had a boil over yet although I am with it like a hawk as I’m approaching boil. I brew a couple batches a month and it seems to be holding up just fine. I added a nice thermometer with the money I saved. I only brew on gas so the bottom works fine for me. Are there better pots on the market? Sure but this one does everything I need it to do at a reasonable price. I typically batch sparge so I’m heating 3 different batches of water and the boil. Overall it’s a sturdy, nice pot.

Awesome boil pot.
Simply put this is an awesome boil pot for the money. I have a heavier duty one I've used for years and wanted a second one for brewing double batches. After using this one I'll be using it as my primary boil pot and if I purchase another it will be this one. Very well made for the money and quite convenient with the liquid level markings etched into the pot. Simply add a thermometer and your ready to Go! You'll love it!

Good price, doesn't keep heat as well
I have 15 gallon heavy duty kettles for mash/boil and use this as my hot liquor tank. I do lose more temperature in this compare to something that cost much more and is worth it. But if gets the job done.

Perfect HLT
I use this to heat up my mash and sparge water. Perfect for the price! Quality welds.

Great value for a stainless kettle with welded couplings
This brew kettle does the job just as well as one costing 3x as much. Welded connections are much more reliable and easy to clean compared to weldless bulkheads. Get this one and put the money you save into a high quality ball valve and thermometer. Or even use a 1/2" MPT to Tri-Clover fitting to build an impressive looking set-up.

awesome for the price!
awesome kettle for the price and perfect size for all 5 gallon batches w/out any spill overs (though some close calls). my preboil volumes are about 6.5gal.

if you don't want to spend $300+ for a blichmann kettle, get this one and buy the add-ons. note, though, that you'll have to use a custom made measuring stick to know the water volume inside (being there there is no spot for a sight glass).

the proportions are much better than my old kettle and this one gets to a boil and maintains heat pretty well.

Great starter brew pot
I started brewing with this pot and for the price it does a good job. I have since bought a better brew pot and bought a false bottom. This is the pot I now use for steeping my all grain kits. Works great with the false bottom.
