The Cannular Pro is a semi-automatic can seamer that is easy to use, reliable, and beautifully simple.

Whether you're a brewery looking to offer canned beer to go or a homebrewer wanting to keep your creations fresh and fully protected from light, the Cannular is the answer. This bench top unit is one of the most compact and easy to use can seamers you'll find. The Cannular only requires one person to operate, and each can takes roughly 3 seconds to seam. With a two-person team, one filling and one seaming, the Cannular becomes a suitable option for nano breweries doing small canning production runs.

The Cannular Pro guarantees a perfect, repeatable seal by automating the seaming process. By eliminating the manual lever, it removes operator variability and ensures consistent pressure for every can.

Key Features

  • Semi-Auto Precision: Effortless operation that delivers a uniform, professional-grade seam every time.
  • Universal Compatibility: Designed for all standard 202 cans, including 12 oz, 16 oz, 330 ml, and 500 ml sizes.
  • Adjustable Platform: Features a built-in adjustable table to accommodate various can heights—no additional spacers required.
  • Customizable Pressure: Easily fine-tune the platform height to ensure the ideal amount of sealing pressure for any batch.

The Cannular Pro can be adapted for use with 32 oz Crowlers (Ball 300 can/end). To seam Ball 300 end/lid type oversized aluminum cans you will need to purchase the required Chuck for 1L (32 oz) Crowlers separately (coming soon).

The Cannular Pro can also be adapted for use with Tin Plated Steel Cans for food packaging applications. The table spacer is designed to accept these 100mm cans, but you will need to purchase the required 100mm Chuck separately.

Operation:
The beauty of the Cannular lies in how truly simple it is to operate, and the semi-automatic pro model makes canning beer even easier. With only three points of operation, it only takes a few minutes to familiarize yourself with the machine. The seaming process is as follows:

  • Place lid atop the can and place the can on the table spacer
  • Turn the platform lever clockwise to raise the can to the seamer
  • Press the seaming operation button then wait for the can to stop spinning
  • Turn the platform lever counterclockwise to lower the can

That's all there is to it!

Construction:
The Cannular was designed to be compact, durable, and safe to operate in a wet environment. The platform assembly is made from 304 grade stainless steel, so no matter how messy your canning gets, there's no need to worry about rusting or degradation. The body of the unit is made from hammered sheet metal and fastened together with stainless steel screws. Rubber feet help keep the unit from slipping and sliding while in use. In addition, the Cannular features built-in brackets near the feet so you have the option to mount the machine to your counter or benchtop. The Cannular runs off of 24V DC power via the Anderson socket located on the back. This lower voltage was chosen specifically to make the unit as safe to use in a wet environment as possible.

Power:
As noted above, the Cannular comes with a 24V DC Anderson socket located on the back of the unit. It does not, however, include a cord and plug. This unit uses the more powerful Pro Model Power Supply, which provides enough power to seam tin plated steel cans as well as aluminum cans.

Why Cans?
So why can when you can bottle? There's no doubt that canning has become a more and more popular format for packaging beer among craft breweries over the last several years, and with good reason. Aluminum cans aren't just more environmentally friendly than bottles, since cans require less energy to transport and recycle, they're also much better at protecting the quality of the beer. Whereas bottles allow in light, which leads to skunking, aluminum cans offer 100% protection from UV and other wavelengths of light that are harmful to beer. There's still great debate surrounding whether cans or bottles are better at keeping beer fresh, but if done correctly, cans are theoretically the superior option. When a crown cap is crimped onto a bottle, the lining of the cap can form an imperfect seal on the bottle, allowing small amounts of oxygen in, as well as small amounts of CO2 out. Over time this can result in oxidation of the beer and lost carbonation. Seamed cans, on the other hand, form a much better seal that can prevent these issues. Of course, it's important to make sure that the can is purged of oxygen before being filled, and that the can lid is sealed atop foam to eliminate oxygen from the headspace. Aside from all the "sciency stuff", cans are just plain safer. Take your beer backpacking, camping, or poolside and rest assured that broken glass won't ruin your day!

  • Gearbox Ratio: 9.8 : 1
  • Dimensions: 16" L x 9.5" W x 21" H

  • Max Can Height: 7.75" (197mm)

Please note the pictured splash guard is not included with the seamer. Please see CAN106 to add the splash guard to your order.

Please note: When you receive your cannular the rollers have been set and tested at the factory. They should not need adjustment for 100,000 cans when using only Can Fresh brand cans. We recommend testing at least 4 cans to verify the calibration. The table, however, comes unadjusted and getting it set up correctly is very important to getting a proper seal. Cannular's test show that a minimum 0.4mm (.015") actual overlap is needed to seal to 90 PSI. The proper table tension takes a little practice and you can expect to waste a few cans getting it dialed in. Once you learn the proper tension re-adjusting it is very quick and easy. You want the tension to be tight but not so tight as to dent the can. Use cans at your fill height with water for proper tension adjustment.

So fast so easy

This canner makes it so easy to can beverages. It can take a little dialing in to get the best possible seams but the result is identical to a any commercially-produced can that I have checked.

Superior to the manual version

I had the version with the lever to move the dies to seal the cans. Had several cans from each session with bad/poor seals. Upgraded to the 'Pro' version and I haven't had a single can without a solid crimp/seal on it. The fact that you simply set your pedestal height (no second changing bases) and then push a button in order to get the machine to do the job is also a great thing. I'm using sealed cans for both heights to set that. Fill the can place lid on top and then push the button and done. Removes human error from the mix ensuring you get a correct seal/crimp every time. I've also not needed to do any adjustments to the dies since it arrived. Be sure that the can feels like it's locked into place when you place it against the dies. If it's not in there fully (but not too far) the pedestal will tend to move and start to drop while the can is being sealed. Going a partial turn higher typically gets the height correct. Use the lower 'locking' ring to keep the pedestal where it need to be. I also tighten the pedestal handle against the threads (of the main screw) so that there's less chance of it moving on me. Doing it this way I've had ZERO issues.

Great canner

We bought this and before even plugging it in we swapped the tooling over for 32oz crowlers. We found a good video online to help with the fine tuning. First Crowler sealed fine although the machine sounded like it struggled a little…. So we made a little tweak and tried it again…. And it sealed again just fine although with less “grunting” (I should mention we bought the empty crowlers from Oktober) A few days later we canned 10 gallons of beer in less than 60 minutes as we figured out a good “assembly line process”. Highly recommend the canner. Can’t wait to put it thru some more abuse in the heats to come. We are opening a 2BBL brewery withiin the next 12 months and will probably buy another canner to leave set up for 12oz cans since it’s not easy to switch back and forth.

Works great

This thing is awesome. It came fully adjusted for the 16 oz cans I purchased. I watched the videos how to adjust and was prepared to go at it but it came ready to role. I immediately canned three 5 gallon brews. About 35-40 cans each. Works perfect every time. I bought the power cord also. It worked perfect. I bought the splash guard but did not need it. I am using sugar to carbonate so not suds mess. Beers should be ready to drink any day.

Found an instruction manual online

Worked right out of the box the first time I used it. Second time the seams were perfect on half the cans but leaked on the other half. Third time I had only 4 cans out of 30 with a perfect seal. I found the manual online https://www.brouwland.com/content/docs/020/020%20Canning/020.200.2%20Semi%20Automatic%20Cannular_MAN_EN.pdf. It turns out that I never tightened the coupling nut on the turn table so the table height moved slightly when the can spun. After adjusting the height and tightening the coupling nut the Cannular seals perfectly again. It seems like enclosing a printed manual with the can seamer would be a good idea. It would have saved me an afternoon of frustration and many damaged cans.

Love it

Awesome! I absolutely love the cannular. It would be extremely helpful if the cannular came with some type of instructions.

If you're willing to do the work the cannular probe is awesome!

The cannula pro is definitely a better product than the manual in my opinion. It will need some adjustment but once you get it dialed in it's actually really good. It represents an extreme value when compared to other options.

Nice upgrade but where's the instruction manual?

Had the manual seamer first. Worked well but seams were often sharp and lever pulling got old so upgraded. Like the manual version the semi auto is a nice sturdy well-built machine. Good consistent seams on standard US cans without modified table blanks is a big plus. Only reason it's not getting 5 stars is that there is no instruction manual to be found on this model anywhere and the video doesn't explain the use. 2 buttons but it seals whether or not the back one is pushed in. Seems like a manual override but not entirely sure. Please ship with a manual.

We canning!

So far so good. Did 99 of 100 cans. Crushed one before we got height right. More Beer customer service was fantastic.

So far so good...but...

Have only run a 10-12 cans through the seamer and I am very happy. Very simple to adjust (if you need it...mine came ready to roll with the 16.9oz cans) and I was surprised that it is as quiet as it is. Obviously it has a noise but I expected it to be louder...big bonus to me. My concerns... First there is no manual and I can't seem to find a manual online. Granted the operation is pretty simple but some guidance on adjustments trouble shooting and operation would be nice. (FYI the button on the right should always be pressed in when you want the unit to control the spin. If it is not pressed in and you let go of the spin button your can will not get a good seam. My suggestion always keep the button on the right pressed in.) Second when I put my first can in to test it out it didn't work. Hit the button to seam it and you could hear the motor running but no spinning. Gave MoreBeer a call and they advised to pull the back off (which is actually the entire cover...its not fun to put back on) to see if anything was preventing the pulleys from spinning. What I ended up doing was manually spinning the piece that spins the can and then hit the button and it worked. Basically chalked it up to the belt in the pulley system being pretty tight and just needed to be "broken in" a bit. If you experience this I suggest manually spinning it a few times and coaxing it to work. After about 10 cans or so it works without assistance. Lastly and not really a problem just an oddity the power supply is weird. When you plug it in the transformer attached to it does not sit on the same surface as the seamer. The end going from the transformer to the unit is just a few inches short of the transformer sitting level. Thought it was weird they didn't just add a little bit more cable so it would sit fully on the same service. Easy fix though use some double sided tape or velcro to attach it to the back of the unit. All in all would highly recommend to those that want to get into canning I am quite happy with the unit.

How do you adjust the semi pro for 16 oz cans?

A

It works with CDL-202 TOP?

MoreCoffee!

It has for me. I use commercial available cans/ lids as well as the slightly taller cannular brand cans/lids with no issues via a 3 D printed spacer. Seems to work well with multiple brands of can and lids. Have about 900cqns through it and it works great.

So this canner does not come with a power supply? I would need to buy one for $109 to make the unit operational? That seems ridiculous scam like.

Does this work with 8oz sleek cans and a 202 cap?

MoreCoffee!

Follow this i know what the description said but I would like to do 8oz sleep can in a makeshift way if possible.

I'm having power supply problems when I first plug it in the green lights on the buttons light up for a second or two then fade back off motor wont operate at all. Anyone else had anything similar? I'm thinking I may have received a faulty transformer...

MoreCoffee!

Same issue. Issue occurred during first test run but when I plugged into a hardwired outlet it was able to run through about 150 cans. After two months I’ve tried to run another batch and can get it to stay powered. I’ll be contacting Morebeer for a replacement power supply

MoreCoffee!

Warren I haven't had that happen but I do know the power plug at the canner side is not sealed. I think they do that to allow shortening of the cord if desired. I would check the connections on that end and see if they are snug. Then make sure the plug is well seated in the outlet (plug in). I actually taped the wire/plug connection to try and keep it from pulling out as I plug it in and out. Hope this helps. Bill

MoreCoffee!

I had this same issue and contacted More Beer directly. They sent a new power supply and everything seems to be working fine now. Perhaps you got a faulty power supply like I did.

MoreCoffee!

Yes I did also same exact problem. It has been determined the whole batch is bad. New ones due in September. In the meantime get the smaller transformer for the other model. It works perfectly for aluminum cans. U can also have em send you a jumper plug and wire so you can run the cannular off of 18 19 or 20 volt hand power tool batteries. Note when running on lower voltage batteries (less than 24v) you will have to use the bump switch to release the jaws from the can so you can remove can. Dont adjust the machine. All will work just fine with transformers.

MoreCoffee!

I had this same issue with the first power supply that was shipped to me. Green light would turn on when plugged in then immediately fade out. It was recently replaced and has been working so far. Faulty power supply is the answer.

MoreCoffee!

I had this same problem as well when plugged into a power strip. Worked fine when I plugged it directly into an outlet

MoreCoffee!

After receiving a replacement transformer it seemed like the problem was resolved for about 40 minutes. After that it has done the same as the first one. These power transformers are not compatible with the seamer and a different solution needs to be resolved.

MoreCoffee!

Same Issue plugged the power supply in and Green Lights came on and then go dim.

MoreCoffee!

We have brought this issue up with the manufacturer and are working with them to get replacements. In the meantime the standard Cannular power supply (CAN101) should work with Pro; however it does not provide enough power for tin cans just aluminum. Let me know if you have any questions or concerns. Cheers!

MoreCoffee!

I have the same issue as well. I tested it with a volt meter. It reads 24 volts then when you plug it into the machine it dumps the voltage and the green lights go out. I was thinking the same that I received a faulty transformer. Unfortunately they are out of stock of the pro power supply.
