This 6 gallon Torpedo Ball Lock Keg has all of the convenient features you wish your other kegs had!

The brand new patented design, D794,899, of the Torpedo Keg gives you a high quality keg with features that a dedicated home brewer will appreciate. The machine welds on the Torpedo Keg exceed our standards for quality. There are no nooks and crannies for contaminant to get lodged in. The weld quality is possible because these kegs made by an ISO certified commercial keg manufacturer.

These kegs can be stacked on top of each other with the Ball Lock quick disconnects still attached. They feature rolled stainless steel handles that are comfortable to grab. "In" and "Out" are etched near the keg posts for a quick and mistake-free set up when you are connecting lines in a refrigerator or kegerator.

Considering the price and quality, the Torpedo Keg is an amazing value!

My do it all keg!

I ferment and serve from the same keg-no transfers no hassle. Six gallon keg is perfect for fermenting and serving a full five gallons. I use a floating dip tube to always pull beer from the top and I've never noticed any off flavors doing it this way. It really simplifies the whole process. Once my wort goes into the keg it goes straight into the kegerator for temp control. As soon as fermentation is done I cold crash and force carb without ever moving or touching the beer. Hook up the tap and fresh cold delicious beer flows. Trust me this is the way. I'll never go back to transferring the beer!

Using it for pressure fermenting

really love the easiness of pressure fermenting on this thing easy to clean wider than a regular keg and slightly taller

Keg for Fermentation

I've recently switched to fermenting in a keg so I purchased the 6gal Torpedo Corny Keg to ferment in (with and without pressure). It's lovely! That extra head space makes a big difference. The straight dip tube and height of the keg make it perfect for covering the liquid dip tube with a 21" 300 micron filter (with a drilled #6 stopper) from ArborFab. This allows me to dry hop loose and transfer without any clogs. It's also just nice having a keg that's completely new. There's not much to say about a corny keg but one small complaint is that the gas and liquid connections seem a bit cheap. The poppets sit a little proud of the surface. The keg holds pressure just fine so these issues are merely aesthetic. I can't complain about this keg's performance but I still think there's room for improvement so I gave it 4 stars. If I'm being honest though it's my favorite keg and I wish I had more of them! If you're thinking of getting one for fermenting in I would recommend it! I probably wouldn't drop the cash to get one just for serving beer but I wouldn't stop anyone else from buying one for that matter!

Love it

Very nice and larger than a corny... Perfect for fermenting in the keg... Would be nice if they added another ball valve on the lid so you can aerate or carb... would be nice to pump pure oxygen into the wort to kick off fermentation and then later carbonate it

Nice Keg

Ordered it... it came.. one of the posts wouldn't come off... called Morebeer customer service at 11:30 on a Saturday... it was a 5min call... they next day shipped me a new one on Monday (in perfect working order). I have to say.... It sucks the first keg was messed up.. but the customer service more than makes up for it. Mad Props to moreover customer Service. I will be a customer for life because of this.

Great Kegs!

I really like the design of these kegs. They are light easy to lift and transport and are sleek looking; torpedo like! Four stars only because I have had to replace the gas post on two of them. The post seems to be slightly larger in diameter than a standard corny post and will not work with my corny connectors. Replacement gas post solved the problem in both cases but a bit odd.

Kegmenter 5 gal. Batch

6 gal. Keg as a fermenter. Spunding to capture Co2 / purge a separate keg and fermenting under pressure.

5-gallon Unitank 5-gallon fermenter or 6-gallon serving keg.

If it were redesigned I'd like to see a reccessed inside bottom to prevent excess trub from being sucked up into the dip tube and the other would be a padded or rubber exterior bottom like the ones on the old corny kegs. Other than that it was very well constructed and I will likely get another. I purchased a floating dip tube so the recessed bottom is a non-issue and I can figure some other way to pad the floor of my fermentor so it doesen't get damaged by the keg. I'm still fermenting my first batch of beer but can report that it holds pressure well. I also like that the posts are well labled and the metal workmanship was flawless without and sharp edges or burs. Caution: I did have a problem with krausen blowing out of my spunding valve early on in fermentation but I was able to catch it before any of it got into the spunding valve and damaged it. Next time I will make a 5-gallons batch instead of the 5-1/2 gallon I did this time or remove the PRV and replace it with a blowoff tube until active fermentation has passed. I hope these comments help.

Nice for fermenting in your kegerator

If you have looked into brewing lagers you might know that you have to keep the temperature around 50F. You can brew a full 5 gallon batch in your kegerator. Make sure that you get a corny lid with a hole to add a blowoff tube or use a spunding valve to relieve pressure. The benefit of a 6 gallon keg is that you can ferment 5 gallons while still having adequate head space. I had to cut off the handles using an angle grinder to get it to fit my kegerator.

Going to use for 5 gallon fermentor

Keg was delivered quickly! Looks to be made very well. Held pressure during shipping! If you have used this as a fermentation vessel (5 gallon batch) how much of the dip tube have you cut off to stay out of trub and do a closed transfer into serving keg?

Great for no-chill / pressure fermentation!

I brew my beer turn off the kettle and immediately transfer boiling wort into this thing. Let it sit for a day and then pitch yeast and slap a spunding valve on it. Works great and I can brew at higher temps without all the yeast esters. Love it!

6 gallon ball lock

6 gallon slightly taller than the 5ers. Had to make a new collar for the keezer. Over all awesome. 5 or 5½ gallon pressure ferments with plenty of head space

Great fermentation tank

Perfect for fermenting 5 gallon batches. Gives enough headroom. Definitely recommend

I use these for frermentation

Picked up a couple of these to use for pressure fermentation and since they aren't too tall I can cold crash them in my kegerator and even serve directly from them depending on the beer. They are a bit loud when the floating dip tubes are banging against the keg walls but that's to be expected.

Very good quality keg

This keg screams high quality. I bought this as an fermentation vessel in order to still brew 5 gallon batches it works perfectly for that purpose. I will eventually replace all my old kegs with torpedos.

Enough headspace for fermenting full 5gal / 19L batches

Perfect cost-effective vessel for pressure fermentation of a full sized 5 gallon batch while leaving enough headspace. Works really well with a floating diptube.

Height is actually 27+ inches

Obviously a great product that screams quality and fills a needed gap for home brewers. My issue is the description this keg is 23 inches tall. It’s 23 inches to where the lid is but 27+ to the top of the handles. I can’t fit it into my fridge at that height. Maybe I missed that detail somewhere? Something to consider when deciding to purchase.

Anyone know how much these weigh? I'm not sure if the package is 12 pounds or just the keg. I'm trying to estimate my batch size using filled keg weight and totally forgot to weigh it beforehand!

How many gallons of beer will this actually hold?

MoreCoffee!

6 gallons

MoreCoffee!

6

MoreCoffee!

The 6 gallon topedo keg holds 6 gallons if you fill all the way to the rim. I allow for head space for good carbonation & fill with 5 1/2 gallons.

Do normal corny keg lids fit the 6 gallon Torpedo keg?

MoreCoffee!

Sure do… 1.75 2.5 5 and 6 gallons all use the same lids.

MoreCoffee!

The oval style does. Not the racetrack ones.

MoreCoffee!

yes

MoreCoffee!

Yes. Nothing different about these except an e tra gallon of space

MoreCoffee!

Yes they are interchangeable

Does this price include the gas post beer post and keg lid or is that an extra cost?

MoreCoffee!

It came with a steel gas diptube a straight steel liquid diptube both ball-lock posts and a lid. It is a complete keg out of the box. If you want a floating diptube (which I recommend if you use it for primary fermentation) that would be purchased separately.

MoreCoffee!

The posts are included. The lid also has a hang tab for hanging a dry hop basket. Great keg. Buy it and brew away!

MoreCoffee!

Yes. A complete keg read to fill with beer when you clean it.

MoreCoffee!

Those are all included

What is the height of this with a ball lock quick disconnect on the posts?

MoreCoffee!

The handles are still the tallest point with disconnects attached so still just over 27 inches 27.25" I believe.

MoreCoffee!

Quick disconnect on the post is lower than the top of the keg.

MoreCoffee!

The ball lock valves are below the overall height of the keg handles

MoreCoffee!

27" Height. Integral handles are taller than the posts

MoreCoffee!

26.25” to the top of the disconnect and close to 27.25” to the top of the handles.

MoreCoffee!

The disconnect and hose stays below the top of the keg handle so they don't add to the height of the keg at all.
