Nicaraguan Java Nicaraguan Java...what? Java is in Indonesia and Nicaragua is in Central America. What's the story here?? Well, as it happened, there was an organization that was getting rid of all their Java varieties in Indonesia and a guy in Nicaragua bought them all and planted them at his farm in Nicaragua. The results are awesome. Really great nuttiness and a full body - as well as a distinct spiceness...and by spice, I don't mean clove-like. Rather, it's more along the lines of white pepper. This is one of those coffees you have to try - especially for the story! Download Nicaraguan Java Info PDF for your notes! Click here to compare this coffee with another of our coffees! Tasting Notes from The Coffee Guy: In aroma, the first thing I get is a nice nuttiness. Then, behind the nuttiness, I get a distinct papaya character. Interesting. In flavor, I get tangerine peel, a nice nuttiness, distinct spice/pepper notes (white pepper with a hint of smoke) and very nice (this is going to sound weird, but it's really cool)...chili pepper sweetness. It's not a hot chili pepper, but it does have a similar character if you stripped away the hotness and replaced it with sweetness. On top of all this, there is a light brightness/acidity and full body. Very interesting indeed! Find similar coffees! Design your own blend with this coffee!
