Coffees from the Caribbean are known for their balance, smoothness and...price! Always expect to pay a considerable premium over the rest of the coffees in the region for coffees from the Caribbean - especially for the famous Jamaican Blue Mountain.
Most people in the coffee industry think these coffees are over-rated because of the price. You often hear, "yeah, it's good, but is it THAT good??".
Ultimately though, the consumer is the final judge and these coffees often bring back memories of vacations or honeymoons that make the coffees even more special.
Expect coffees from the Caribbean to have nice balance with pristine acidity and full body. In flavor, you will get nice chocolate and spice notes with a nuttiness at times.
