Laos Arabica We haven't seen any Laos coffee in a while and we were really excited when we saw a new offer - and even more excited when we cupped it and found it to be excellent! This is a rare coffee. No one knows what it is and very few people even know where Laos is. This coffee comes from the Bolivean Plateau which is a region in the center of the country that has lots of coffee growing...but most of it low grade and poorly processed stuff. This coffee is great though and we are very impressed. We're confident that you'll feel the same! Download Laos Arabica Info PDF for your notes! In flavor, the most prominent characteristic is the full body and nice balance. Everything just kind of hits you at once and it's very pleasant. As you dig into the flavor, there is a nice sweet citric quality - like blood orange or canned mandarin oranges. There are also nutty overtones in the background. Light+ brightness that is very supportive and livens the cup and very full body. In the aftertaste, I get green tea leaves and a distinct sugary sweetness (and hints of chocolate). Very clean with hints of nuttiness and tangerine. At a French Roast, the roast comes through significantly and really dominates the flavor...which I feel detracts from the beauty of the coffee. Lots of chocolate, but everything else thins out. I'd stick with the Full City on this coffee. | |||||||||||
