Guatemalan Finca Bourbon, BF Grown at Finca Bourbon, this coffee (surprisingly enough) is 100% made up of the Bourbon varietal. Bourbon does produce a bit more coffee than Arabica Typica (the more common varietal), but they are pretty similar taste-wise. Basically, how/where the coffee is processed is going to matter more for taste than the difference between these two varietals. Finca Bourbon is certified as Bird Friendly by the Smithsonian Migratory Bird Center. Download Guatemalan Finca Bourbon, BF Info PDF for your notes! (Not like some Sidamos, but definitely there) The flavor adds a touch of smokiness, a light caramel, and the blueberry flavor carries through. The acidity is elegant and juicy - not harsh. The aftertaste, like most Central American coffees is very clean. Find similar coffees! Design your own blend with this coffee! Recommended Roast Level(s): * Run your mouse over the roast chart for more detail * Roasting Notes: I'd take this coffee lightly into second crack - the acidity does need some taming, but not too much. Lighter roasts will probably be a bit intense if you drink the bean by itself. | |||||
