Tasting Notes from Casey "The Coffee Guy": In aroma I get a nice and full fruit with a raspberry edge. There are herbal hints in the aroma too. In flavor, I get the herbal and fruit still but the raspberry transforms into more of a floral-sweet papaya with hints of pink grapefruit. The aftertaste makes your mouth water as all these flavors linger before fading. The acidity is light+ and just enough to give a nice brightness without distracting. The body is super-full and very viscous. This is a great coffee! Find similar coffees! Design your own blend with this coffee! Recommended Roast Level(s): * Run your mouse over the roast chart for more detail * Roasting Notes: At a Full City, I get very full body with a light acid with lots of fruit and a slight herbal edge. Nutty hints, bakers chocolate and a bright sweetness (from the acidity) in the aftertaste. In flavor, I also get hints of lime and green apple peel. This cup is lively, bright and tangy. Very nice balance. At a French Roast, again I get a super full body with an emphasis on the spice notes instead of the fruit. There is a bit of clove and black pepper in there with bakers chocolate and sweet roasty notes. I prefer the Full City or a Full City+ because I feel that there is a bit more complexity to it - but both roast levels are great. In an espresso, I get a very complex and awesome shot: sweet honey notes, berries (with a nice tartness), herbal hints - medium acid with medium body. Apple and chocolate in the aftertaste...and a bit of minerality in the aftertaste. Very nice...although you may want to take it a hint darker to a Full City+ to balance that acidity and tame it slightly. In an espresso at a French Roast, you get everything you get in the Full City roast, but everything is just slightly restrained. I wouldn't take it this dark as you lose something. Your best bet is with a Full City+ roast on this guy. | |||||||||
