Hawaiian Kona Fancy Kona coffee's origins date back to the early 1800's when a Guatemalan varietal was first brought to the Kona region of Hawaii. Kona coffee is world renowned for its smoothness and flowery brightness. Although coffee is grown in many parts of Hawaii, only coffee grown in the lower west region of the island can be officially called Kona. The slopes of the Mauna Lao and Hualalai volcanoes (on which Kona coffee is grown) provide rich volcanic soil conditions - perfect for a flavorful and smooth coffee like Kona. Dry winters and wet summers give this coffee a chance to bloom before the sub-tropical rainy season sets in on the island. Download Hawaiian Kona Fancy Info PDF for your notes! In flavor there is a nice light raspberry component with smooth and round nuttiness and more of those Kona-esque herbal notes that give nice fullness to the cup. Very balanced and very smooth. Medium brightness and full body. Find similar coffees! Design your own blend with this coffee!
