This coffee is indeed decaf - but you wouldn't know it. It has been processed via a new state of the art and organic certified processing plant run by a company called Descamex. In the past, your only chemical free decaf option was to go with Swiss Water Process and nearly every lot of the stuff was off and baggy. "Well, that's decaf for you!" was the response I always got from suppliers.
But those days are long gone. No joke, you can't even tell that this stuff is decaf. And this is the only decaf I will drink at home. What's that you say? You're not a decaf drinker? Ah, but have you ever wanted a little bit of coffee right before bed but didn't want to be kept awake? This "Water Process" is the answer. The stuff is phenomenal. Click here to compare this coffee with another of our coffees! Tasting Notes from Casey "The Coffee Guy": Deep, rich berries in the aroma. A light+/medium- acidity, quick and brisk. Light+ body with rich full berries in the flavor. Everything is very well balanced - and there is a depth to this coffee that I like. Recommended Roast Level(s): * Run your mouse over the roast chart for more detail * Roasting Notes: We are starting off with a light / low medium acid coffee to begin with, so you don't need to worry about roasting darker to counter this. In a light roast, the berries and acidity will shine through, dominating the palate. As you go darker, though, the acidity becomes a sweet brightness and the berries are muted - just tickling the subconscious. The roasty flavors add a nice complexity to the cup. You can take this coffee a bit into the second crack and it will hold up well. But the further you go, the less berry you will pull out of the flavor.
