Kenya AA Lenana Kenyan coffee is considered by many to be the best coffee in world. This is a very hard bean known for its very bright acidity, fruit flavors and complex floral aromas. We think Kenya coffee is extremely versatile and can be roasted anywhere from City (lighter) to French Roast(darker). On the lighter side the acidity is dominant. Tasting Notes from The Coffee Guy: In the aroma, I get spice, hints of clove and green apple. In flavor, I get black currant, lots of green apple and sweet vanilla/chocolate. Nice complexity! The brightness is a medium balanced by a full body. The aftertaste fades to spice, clove and chocolate. Find similar coffees! Design your own blend with this coffee! Recommended Roast Level(s): * Run your mouse over the roast chart for more detail * Roasting Notes: At a Full City Roast brewed as a drip cup, I get lemon and currant with lots of chocolate. Nice sweetness and balance with hints of nuts. The acidity is medium but not overpowering - very pleasant. Nice lemon in the aftertaste. At a French Roast brewed as a drip cup, I get lots of complexity. Green apple notes, lemon, perfect tartness with a light+ acidity and great balance. There is just a touch of nuttiness and a hint of berries/currant in the cup too. I really like this! At a Full City Roast brewed as an espresso, this shot is far too bright. Take this darker for espresso. At a French Roast brewed as an espresso, I get lots of bright red fruit in aroma. In flavor, I get red fruit (think raspberries) with a hint of wine/grape character. Nice chocolate notes too. The acidity is light and has the tart/crisp character that I really love in a good Kenyan (you usually only get this kind of acidity in Kenyans and maybe an Antigua here and there).
