Tasting Notes from Casey "The Coffee Guy": In aroma I get a nice floral dimension; hints of lilac. There is a slight fruit sweetness in there too. In flavor, the first that presents itself is the crystal clear tart brightness/acidity that greatly influences all the fruit components in the cup. There is a bit of a strawberry jam aspect to the flavor with hints of tea leaves and brown sugar in the aftertaste. Very bright and lively. Medium brightness/acid and medium body. Find similar coffees! Design your own blend with this coffee! Recommended Roast Level(s): * Run your mouse over the roast chart for more detail * Roasting Notes: At a Full City, I get nice floral notes with hints of raspberry wine and a brisk tart sweetness. Medium brightness with light stawberry-lime notes and hints of green tea leaves. The flavor is a bit intense and may be too much for some people so I would recommend taking the roast a bit darker to tame some of these flavors. At a light French Roast, you get all the same stuff as the Full City but just a bit less intense with a bit more balance and nice milk chocolate notes. I think it really needs a bit more than a Full City for the really awesome mix of flavors to develop. In an espresso shot, at Full City there is a lot going on in the shot and just like with the regular cup of coffee, you really need to go a bit darker to get the true flavor development from the coffee. At this light roast, you get very bright fruit with hints of raspberry and lime. There is a medium- acid with a wine-like intensity to it. Like I said, it's a bit too much at this roast. The espresso with a bit darker of a roast is VERY nice though. Very fully body with a nice sweetness; soft fruit and restrained brightness. Hints of rose petals behind the fruit and a little bit of tartness that grips the palate nicely. The light+ acid brings a very nice brightness to the whole shot. Very pleasant! | |||||||||
