Tasting Notes: This coffee really surprised me because of it's vibrant fruitiness. More like a Kenyan in aroma which is very unique. Nice vanilla comes through as well. In flavor, I get a very full perfumey berry/raspberry characteristic that fills the nasal cavities - more like a Natural Sidamo...wait, what coffee is this, anyway? A Colombian?? A nice bit of sweetness carries through in the flavor and aftertaste and there is a slight winey hint to the cup. Light+ brightness/acid and a medium body give this cup a nice balance to the dynamic flavor. Find similar coffees! Design your own blend with this coffee! There is enough brightness/acid to make this crisp, sparkling and slightly sweet. The fruit flavor lingers on the tongue in the aftertaste. As you venture into the French Roast+, the fruit is tamed a bit but enhanced by a rich chocolate from the darker roast. Instead of the fruit lingering in the aftertaste, the chocolate sweetness lingers, making the recommendation for this coffee a French Roast. In a French Roast espresso with this coffee, the flavor comes across with nice fruit, light brightness/acid and a full body with nice roasty notes. There is a nice sweetness in the cup that lingers and an interesting nutty aroma. | |||||||||||
