Very few people know that Australia is the proud producer of some of the world's finest coffee. The Australian coffee export market is just starting to build and much more of it will be available in coming years. The Australian government has invested heavily in infrastructure and quite a bit of knowledge is coming from the research done by the Aussies.

Three main coffee growing regions

There are three main coffee growing regions in Australia. In the very north of Queensland. Northern Australia is very close to the equator and the further you go up the country, the more tropical it gets. Keep in mind that the very tip of Australia is just a hop from Papua New Guinea and Indonesia (the home of Java and Sumatra).

A little south of this coffee region is the Central and South East Queensland coffee growing region and just a little further south of this is the Northern New South Wales. This is where the majority of the advanced coffee production takes place in Australia - at The Mountain Top Coffee Company. They are taking great efforts to single-handedly catapult the Australian coffee export industry to a significant player in the market. We expect to see quite a bit more quality coffee coming from this region as the industry develops.
